I'm of a similar age, and I'm at the point where all my kids are in their 20s and playing video games together is something we do. It's just bonding time. Whether Halo or NMS, we're playing together.

I think this is a fair critique, and the comparison even extends to the movies more or less. While TMP, II, IV, First Contact, and Nemesis deal with potentially existential threats, III, V, VI, Generations, and Insurrection did not, and they were all perfectly interesting plots.

This is exactly what I've been wondering, with a non profit you could have ways of generating revenue without the constant aggressive profit seeking that tends to cause the problems of the tech giant social media platforms.

I'm just going to have my lemmy shortcut and app next to my reddit ones and keep going to lemmy first. I feel as more people come online here eventually the reddit usage will taper off as it becomes redundant.
