Do you have any hobbies you like to do? I recommend investing in tools/supplies if that's your jam.

I had a long term friend that I made in my freshman year of high school because we both enjoyed fanfiction. It was definitely a friendship of proximity imo.

I didn't like how they became my mom's friend and eventually my mom would go out with her without inviting me.

She talked down about all my interests, was openly homophobic (this is before I realized I was queer), and she hated men. Hated to the point of being vicious to her little brother and using physical violence. When I left my family I went no contact with her too. I understand she had her own baggage and trauma, but she became the definition of gaslight, gatekeep, girl boss.

Copying is a great way to learn how to draw!

I recommend tracing character sheets too. Animators learn to adapt to new character designs by tracing model sheets, then copying the characters freehand. A lot of drawing is muscle memory, and tracing helps to build up muscle memory.

Had a really bad weed addiction (yes I know it's psychological but imo it was harder than quitting cigarettes)

Whenever I tried to quit I wouldn't be able to sleep for up to 3 days at a time. If I got past that I could be clean for a month or two before caving and falling back into weed usage.

Turns out I had really bad OCD and PTSD and zero serotonin (thus, no sleep). I got put on Lexapro and the obsessions were 90% better after that, and the weed usage has gone from daily to once every few months, with friends. The hard part has been adjusting, and developing, a new lifestyle and hobbies to replace the drug use. I also have Been grieving the decade I lost to addiction and trauma.

My tips: addiction is a response to something else going on. It's not laziness, it's not lack of willpower, it's not because you are a monster. It might be due to covering up pain, or because you're self medicating and don't realize it. Be kind to yourself, because the world is unnecessarily shitty to addicts.

Pathologic 2

At the end of the game the

spoilerinquisition looks at you and tells you that everything has been for naught, not because you couldn't save everyone, but because you were wasting time, in your real life, trying to save people in a video game as your real life slips away from you.

Left me shook. Amazing game.
