It doesn't matter what Adblock plus is doing, it is perfectly legal, there is no case here. If a verdict affects adblock plus it will affect all browsers. No matter what they claim editing html files on the client side is not a copyright violation.

Dumbest argument I have ever heard, this is the equivalent of someone gifting me a book and I am not allowed to annotate, redact, highlight, or rip pages of it because of copyright. That makes zero sense, how did it even go to court?
Didn't know it existed and apparently The number 451 1953 dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451, in which books are illegal.
I put a disclaimer under the article to take it with a grain of salt considering that the person running the site is shady and seems to be into eugenics yikes.
They also get arrested for peaceful protests and stay silent: https://www.npr.org/2025/08/11/nx-s1-5498378/uk-police-say-more-than-500-people-arrested-in-pro-palestinian-events-over-weekend
I agree they should block all UK ip addresses and issue a disclaimer that this is due to the online safety act. Not being able to access the Wikipedia will make the citizens petition the government to repeal the act.
I think only the UK does this now, the EU is in planning phase. Even the countries that have dictatorship don't do age verification for Wikipedia. The UK seems to be going through a phase similar to when books were banned because of content and considering that many people read online books this will definitely affect digital book readers.
How would you start reading it? I have tried a few sentences it is hard to grasp. I get the gest that they are in a storm, but it is still confusing.
If you want a goal, I guess I want to read the classics for example the brothers Karamazov, Fahrenheit, tempest, Othello, etc.
I am very good at english, I spend my time reading comics, manga, webtoons, and short stories in english. I won't say I am shakespeare level though.
I have read light novel before, but all of them are clichéd so I drop them after 20 to 50 chapters. As for Mushoku Tensei I am not going anywhere near it, the main character is an awful person. I do read a lot of manga, I am trying to get into normal novels. I want to start with the classics for example the brothers Karamazov.
I wouldn't call it fair, this is a clear cut case of copyright law abuse and they shouldn't be able to make dumb stuff up and waste everyones time. This shouldn't even be a case.
The company is also shady: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axel_Springer_SE
