Europeans still aren't buying Teslas with figures out Wednesday showing sales plunged for a fifth month in a row in May, a blow to investors who had hoped anger toward Elon Musk would have faded by now.

Tesla sales fell 28% last month in 30 European countries even as the overall market for electric vehicles expanded sharply, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association. The poor showing comes after Tesla's billionaire CEO had promised a “major rebound” was coming last month, adding to a recent buying frenzy among investors.

They were selling on Wednesday, pushing the prices down more than 4% in early afternoon trading.

Imagine a taxi that can't operate in the rain. That is what Tesla has delivered in Austin TX.

These riders learned that the hard way, but don't have anything particularly negative to say about it... That's the advantage of only making a Robotaxi service available to hand-picked Tesla influencers.

Customs and Border Protection has confirmed that, no, agents did not stop a Norwegian traveler who showed them a meme of a bald Vice President JD Vance.

“Fact Check: FALSE,” the CBP wrote on X. “Mads Mikkelsen was not denied entry for any memes or political reasons, it was for his admitted drug use.”

And no, the agency is not referring to Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, but rather the similarly named 21-year-old who was denied entry at Newark Liberty International Airport on June 11.

Remember: for MAGA he is still a genius.

What’s your stance towards the lefty instances (ml, lemmygrad, hexbear)?

I'm fine with them as long it's legal stuff. I'm pretty far left myself (although no tankie).

What does pub mean or stand for? Public? Pub as in the beer drinking place?

Like the pub yeah. Basically where people come together. I thought it was a cool name.

Is europe.pub affiliated with the pubeurope mastodon instance?

No.

Trump is the perfect tool for imposter syndrome therapy 😂

Finally a use case for it

What’s your federation/defederation policy?

Instances that tolerate bot spam and illegal stuff get blocked. However, that was rearly the case up until this point.

In what country is the server physically hosted?

Germany (Hetzner)

Are you the only moderator of the instance?

Moderator no. Admin yes. But I have a backup person in the background in case that I'm not able to manage the instance anymore, temporarily.

So basically you think that I'm obligated to spend my money and time for the rest of my life to provide you a free service once I've started one. People like you are the reason why instances like lemm.ee shut down. Expecting the best service for nothing and be the loudest when something you don't like happens.

Instance providers and admins don't owe you anything.

less worry of facing personal consequences if someone posts something illegal on their instance

An instance provider isn't necessarily responsible for content on their instance. At least in a lot European countries like Germany.

You just have to have an easy way to report content (which Lemmy has) and remove it immediately when you become aware of it.

No it's basically that companies can put money into politics.

Company free speech is allowed, but there’s laws to keep them from being total asshats

"Things" shouldn't have free speech - only people. It's just such a corrupt, dumb thing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Exactly. This shit is radicalizing people.

[–] [email protected] 35 points 2 months ago (15 children)

radical free speech

If that includes calling company money "free speech" (which the US does) I don't agree. I'm also not ok with holocaust denial and Naziism.
