I was going to downvote you for not really backing up what you said. But maybe you could explain yourself? You could also provide a link to any sources of your data.
I believe you, that something like this was said, but in this age where the web is at our command, "some evangelical somewhere said that" seems needlessly vague and unconvincing.

I quit them about 10 years ago when I asked for spinach on my sandwich and they gave me 3 small leaves of spinach for an upcharge. That and their instantly stale tasting bread made me done with the particular store and all Subway stores. Was a shame, because they were convenient to where I worked.
