Could COVID also be a cause? I've read that the number of young people with heart problems has increased significantly.

Okay, good to know. Then I wouldn't need an 8th gen, a 4th gen with a Coral pcie should be better I believe. Much cheaper too.

Thanks, HP it will be. When comparing Intel gens, there isn't a massive difference between 4th and 8th gen, except the openvino detection which only works on 8th. But I can get a 4th gen for 25% of the price of a 8th gen.

Thanks! I've stopped the book half way, I couldn't continue. Too much ego indeed. Also the stuff about molecules changing if you live in the Now and living longer was absurd.

Interesting re the wifi chip, as all posts I've found said it only works for a wifi card. Do you have a source for that?

Yeah, no wifi is no problem. It'll be connected via cable

3470 means 3rd gen. The first number is the generation. Good to know that also works.

Thanks for your reply! So that is a 3rd gen Intel chip if I kagi'd correctly? I was planning to get a 8th gen or later. Not sure though if it's worth it, I'm not too familiar with the differences between all generations.

Learning Spanish as well via Duolingo, but I feel like it's slowing down and based on this post, looking at alternatives. Have you found one that works better?

But, retention means repetition, so you learn more, right? Not trying to defend Duolingo but I've been enjoying it for the last 3 years or so. Almost got 1000 day streak and my Spanish is getting better.

Thanks for your insights. Thought about a NUC as well, but AFAIK it doesn't have pcie slots? So I won't be able to install eg a graphics card or pcie coral?

I've created a bot on a stopdrinking community at lemmy.world, and due to a bug it posted the wrong day in the title. I've manually updated it by logging in as the bot on lemmy.world, which works fine, but when visiting the post on lemmy.nz it still shows the old title.

Lemmy.world post: https://lemmy.world/post/540936 "Copy" at lemmy.nz: https://lemmy.nz/post/159526 Notice that here the title shows "Saturday", instead of Sunday.

Is this a bug related to version 0.18?

This may impact lemmy.nz as well as it's a breaking change.

Lemmy is planning on having its 0.18.0 release tomorrow, and this adds compatibility for it.

Hi lemmings, I switched over from Reddit 10 days ago now but I couldn't find a mobile client that I was happy with with an experience similar to the Reddit experience I was used to. So I decided to build my own and I hope you will like it as well!

Play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kuroneko.lemmy_connect

Features:

  • Material U
  • Dark and Light themes
  • List view / Card view / Fullwidth view
  • Filter lists for hiding posts
  • Multiple accounts + switcher across multiple instances
  • Guest accounts for viewing an instance without signup
  • Search and community autofill
  • Markdown support + attempt to navigate links correctly (/u/foo will open that user instead of browser kickout. Same for /c/, !, and @)
  • Saving posts
  • full sort types
  • NSFW view options (hide, blur, show)
  • copy text and url on all posts and comments
  • add comments, replies, and new posts
  • comment replies with line indicators

Here's other screenshots:

Future plans:

  • Improving the inbox
  • Swipe actions
  • Multi-~~reddit ~~communities

Thank you for taking a look. I hope others who are migrating from Reddit like me will find the app useful and I'd love to know your thoughts!

Edit: Community for the app is here: https://lemmy.ca/c/lemmyconnect

We built a house 7 years ago and it's insulated and has double glazing. I've installed Home Assistant with temp sensors in the bed rooms and seeing 70%+ humidity levels. Temperature is always above 16c

We ventilate it, but still it's 70% in the bedrooms. WHO recommends 40-60%, so we're a bit worried.

Living room is around 55% during the day when we have the heat pump set at 21c.

As it's pretty humid outside I think it's almost impossible to get it lower, but are there any other tips? I don't want to run dehumidifiers. Would an HRV like system help?

I've recently installed new brake pads on my bike, all good. They are disc brakes. After a week they were too loose, thought it was because they were new, so readjusted them. A week later and I have to readjust them again. I only cycle about 70km per week. Before the pad replacement I didn't have to do it so often.

Is it still because they're new or am I forgetting something? Thanks.
