All the centralisation in podcasting is the content delivery network (where ads are placed for the commercial ones). Where the feed is hosted it's fairly irrelevant.

What's wrong with the software? They are client web devices and with crostini you can develop at a pinch. But they aren't meant to be laptop/desktop replacement.

I don't think he was thinking - I think he had his scripted joke and was going to deliver it no matter what. I've noticed he has the tendency in interviews to just repeat his answers when and interviewer tries to dig into a topic, he's just not good at thinking on his feet.

I'm not sure "we are not the Tories" is enough of a platform to ensure the lead they have in the polls is replicated by people going to the polling stations on election day. The stupid thing is there is an argument that this investment pays for itself by reducing costs and making us more productive as a country.

I've generally tried to avoid Nvidia cards because binary blob drivers are a pain (especially as a FLOSS developer I occasionally need to build newer kernels). I believe the recent firmware changes mean the nouveau driver can now control clocking but I've no idea what the status is for CUDA which I assume you need to run the models.

They do look pretty affordable though 😀

Now I'm all for smashing atoms and the LHC did a grand job with the Higgs. However are we sure just smashing things harder is going to be as revelatory as other things we could spend the money on? What other grand physics instruments could we build? For example LISA will be a massive step change in our gravitational detection capabilities?

Maybe it would be better titled track of the year?

Do albums have a connective theme between the tracks compared to say a collection of hit singles?

I've mostly migrated to vertico/consult now - only because they better integrate with the built in completion hooks. I still use counsel-compile though.

I live on the foothills of Bannau Brycheiniog having moved from silicon fen and I'm so grateful for the countryside we have all over the UK. The right to roam is a cherished right 😀

I wasn't personally using C++, I was using relatively modern C which has had an homegrown object system added to it.

I'm currently reading Chip Wars and according to the author there were other companies trying to build EUV machines. It seems a lot of them shelved the plans after having ploughed a lot of money into research. ASML stayed the course and bet big on it paying off, which it looks like it has.
