Thanks for all the advice! Thinking Flex-launcher might suit my needs. Kodi with the jellyfin plugin is my current setup, definitely should have said that lol. This works very well for watching movies but not the rest of what I'm looking for

I have a raspberry pi 4 connected to the TV that I want to use for a couple different apps (jellyfin client, YouTube, display foundry battle maps) and am looking for a launcher application that could switch between these. Ideally it could be controlled by HDMI CEC (or whatever it's called). Does anyone have suggestions for this?

I feel like the distinction starts to get pretty blurry when "dealing with things internally without authorities" mostly just means covering stuff up and protecting predators, but yeah they don't literally advertise to pedophiles

Covering thins like that up, is encouraging pedophiles. It let's pedos know that it's safe for them on the church.

Can we quit running billionaire's PR campaigns for them? These people are not our friends, and giving back a portion of what they stole (always in the most public way) doesn't change that

Because the primary function of all power is its own maintenance. And as two bodies of codified hierarchical power, protecting one is in the others interest.

The ui is clean and intuitive and it actually handles podcasts with multiple feeds (patron/free) well (other apps I've used were quite annoying with that). Being able to tag all your podcasts is also really nice for organization, especially if you have a lot of podcasts that you aren't listening to every episode of. My only complaint was that the default settings are to download a podcast when you click on it instead if stream, but that is easily changed with one setting switch

How does copyright protect privacy? I don't see the connection there. I also just disagree that copyright is good for art. Like obviously we can't just not pay artists (without also changing a lot else) but people should not be allowed to own parts of culture.

...how could that possibly be your takeaway from what I said? I literally never even compared them to the Nazis, just said they weren't socialist enough

I should have clarified that I'm not against socialism, just the hierarchy of states. We should instead pursue more egalitarian socialist expressions like social ecology or kinds of anarchy.

Seems to me that about once a generation people allow the states they live in (and corporations they work for) to concentrate power to a point where it cannot be overlooked anymore? Kinda feel like you already have an answer you want tho (apologies if that's not the case).

Power not Greed. People don't hoard wealth just to look at a pile of coins, they do it to control other people
