HP becomes less good with each moment Rowling continues to be hateful.

I think if she was how we all want her to be, no one would have stepped back from the world and said, "Wait, what do we really have here?".

The answer to that question is pretty formulaic, lazy writing. I read the books as they came out, they were great, but damn Harry, couldn't you just go have a 10 minute conversation with dumbledore and skip 90% of the books?

To actually answer your question. My daughter read them all from age 9-10, absolutely loved them, but sometime in the intervening 2 years the magic wore off and she is no longer interested at all.

I really like my job. However, the company and I are a simplified relationship. They pay me, I do work. If they stopped paying, I would stop working.

I am loyal to the people and they to me. I wouldn't leave them with no/low notice because that is a dick move. This is not entirely altruistic, of course, as my best chance for a new job are the people I know.

I only saw Oxide and Friends when I was posting above, so I will certainly check it out.

Not top 3, just my top (now ended) podcast of all time.

On the Metal https://oxide.computer/podcasts/on-the-metal The description: As a part of starting Oxide Computer Company, Bryan Cantrill and Jess Frazelle decided to also create the podcast that they always wanted. Joined frequently by their boss, Steve Tuck, Bryan and Jess interview incredible guests retelling stories of adventure at the hardware/software interface. It’s unapologetically technical and as Jess says, “the nerdiest podcast on the face of the planet” -- but if you're their kind of nerd, you'll find yourself hanging on every word!

A sudden, dramatic shift in the way you process information is probably worth a trip to the neurologist.

DevOps for me in hardware (chip design/verification)

You would thing a bunch of engineers would know how to use conputers, but no, they are good at chip deign. Automating stuff for them gives insane benefits and scale.

In direct opposition to most of the comments here, I relly like it. Most of what I see are really good. I say this having done some and been unable to 'prompt engineer' much to my liking. Turns out it is harder than it looks (much like traditional art)

I like it, I like content and it doesn't take much for me to scroll past stuff I don't like.

Girl Talk was just a bunch of other peoples music smashed together, but it was undeniably its own art.

I feel it, fellow automation-human.

To me the automation calls harder than the gains, but when I do fix stuff for my org of 500 or so people, it is so good.

Thanks for this!
