Edit I tried your way and it works better but is slightly more annoying to setup than running a nixos update (but only slightly more and making the nixos config file was a pain in the arse).

12 to 40 bucks a year depebding on which racknerd vps yiu need. I spend aboit 15 a yaet on mine but it only has me and my facebookessenger slidge bridge

it's also dead simple with netbird few clicks in the gui to setup a subnet router or join the dns box to netbird, then add it as the dns for all or whatever subdomains you want.

 

Anybody see a 48 port managed 2.5 Gig ethernet switch for reasonable pricing yet? it seems like these are still either thousands of dollars or sold for chinese market without appropriate certificatiosn to be plugged into the north american electric grid. Any help would be appreciated (even better if it has 2-4 SFP+ 10 gig ports on it)
