How is it better? Several people have pointed out that standards of living in the United States are well below most developed nations. There US ranks 48th in the world in life expectancy, and 66th in the world in maternal mortality, behind Egypt, Ukraine, Lebanon, Romania, and… the Gaza Strip.

Have you missed the last week of news? The funding was stripped out of the original budget, which had already gone through bipartisan negotiation and had support from both parties, because Trump and Elon Musk coerced their party into rejecting it.

The legislature creates the budget, not the presidency. And the legislature is controlled by Republicans.

This is materially incorrect in multiple ways.

  1. The Economist’s reporting is widely recognized for its absence of bias.
  2. I’m not sure what you’re criticizing about the leaders. They are well-reported opinion pieces intended to provide a comprehensive overview of an issue, hence why they seem like “truncated versions” of articles.
  3. The “snippets of opinion” to which you refer are reporting on public opinion. I thought that was obvious.

This is false. It still has areas in which it could improve, but it is a thousand times better than twitter.

Boo rockstar. That game’s mechanics were some of the most fun I ever experienced. It was absolutely crying out for a sequel.
