It's a cultural thing and isn't always good. Many people in Morocco value their mother over even their own wife, and will neglect the needs of their wife to benefit their mother. Everyone from poor people to professional athletes does it.

It's stupid to just target SUVs. I'm not anti-SUV at all but all they need to do is give you a fine if you don't park inside the lines alongside the street. If your car doesn't fit then too bad.

Lemmy's not an alternative to Twitter, it's an alternative to Reddit. It's not even terribly great at that either because of Reddit's sheer size.

I'd say that the vast majority of people on Twitter couldn't care less about Elon Musk himself. However, Twitter is actually going downhill now and the only ads I see anymore are either hardcore porn or scams. That's what's going to drive people off Twitter.

There is literally no other realistic alternative too it; they're simply all too small. I still follow many trusted news sources and politicians on it as well as fandoms.

I don't think it should be an instance decision. The best part about the fediverse is that we can pick and choose what we want to see.

Why should there not be right wing subs? Would we not just be becoming like Reddit by banning them?
