Eh, he victimized millions of people already, lied repeatedly about his story, the cops lied to support him. He isn't the victim, he's the asshole.

I'm a little amused by the down votes.

Yes some cities have a lot of perks, no the air quality isn't as bad as the 60s, but pretending that taking the metro to the park is comparable to living in a forest is a little silly.

Agreed but

Part of the concern is exactly that people are cultivating these imagined relationships with a language generator and that generator in turn morphs to reinforce engagement. Reinforcing engagement in this case could also reinforce mental... issues.

Given the context of discussion, not really talking about art, more the trajectory of IT corporations since tech bubble crash. Even that, thankfully, is somewhat hyperbole given Linux and other open software movements and projects.

The online independent art platforms are also facing a lot of pressure in that direction too, between AI and corporate consolidation and fuck up of things like Etsy and patreon. They are trying very hard to control all "consumption".

Im another 10 or 15 years we're going to be trying to explain how it was possible to create things just for enjoyment to be part of something, and people will think we're conspiracy wack jobs for suggesting anything was functional before Googazon made everything we interact with.
