I'm around and willing to help. Like the other person, I'm curious what's involved.
I'm not a doctor but if trump takes Canada, I'll be seriously looking into what it takes to move to The Netherlands.... That or some nice country/Island where I don't need to hurt other people.
This makes me feel a lot better, thank you!
My usual temperature was 370°c but since I've burned the via I've dropped it down to 340°c and only go up when I really need to. I'll probably go back to 370°c
As for the stubborn points, I'm going to preheat and try different/larger tips before I go above 400°c.
Thanks again!
I understand, thank you.
The reason I burned the via was because I couldn't get the old solder out and didn't know how to do it safely. Sounds like the solution is to pre-heat the board, use leaded solder, and try a larger/different tip.
What I shouldn't do is use low melt or just keep increasing the temperature.
A chisel tip is good for small vias?
What about lowmelt? I've seen videos and it just gets all over everything.
I've ordered a couple practice board, I'm going to try to replicate my mistake (burn the pad off) then preheat the board and try a few different things to see what works best. I'll order some leaded solder too, thank you!
I got a rework station about a week ago. Is there a good temp to heat the board with? I know I don't focus the heat in one spot and always keep it moving but as for temperature or air flow I have no idea.
I haven't read or seen many people preheat the board. Is this true for all soldering projects or just for the stubborn points?
Can you explain a bit more? Any resources I can read up on?
From what I've read, the keys rotate every 6 seconds so you'll need to find a reliable, low latency source that will allow you access. Aside from that I haven't found much in the way of required equipment or providers as everyone is talking about IPTV these days.
Isn't IPTV shit for sports or really anything popular? I've read there's a tonne of buffering and quality problems... I dont watch sports but I have family and friends looking for a solution and ask me because they're on my Plex server.
Personally the *arr stack is perfect for what I do. When I want to watch something I'll scroll through the recently added and pick something.
You should ditch the freedom units for KM/h too... If not, pretty soon it'll be color, neighbor, trunk, etc.
My phone and YouTube are in French, everything else is in English. No idea why YouTube (and only YouTube, not google, gmail, etc) is French, one day it was and I've never put in the effort to change it.
Native English speaker also.
I don't think I'll ever sub to IPTV because of the community around it. I miss the days of setting up your own satellite dish and downloading the decryption keys.
I've heard nothing but good things about Portugal! Though, I think it's incredibly disrespectful to go to a country and not know at least SOME of the local language. I've never even considered learning Portuguese but I am now, if not just to visit. I will 100% respect the local culture.
I really like it in Canada, but I am quite scared of trump calling himself king, Canada the 51st state, etc. If it comes down to it, any peaceful place is where I want to be.
