Number of reasons. Works well with Apple products, long battery life, way more powerful for most normal (sometimes applies to even some basic UI devs and small project video editing). It’s got great hardware. However Apple is a nightmare capitalist company that’ll try to dime and nickel you for every possible thing.

That’s never changing. You can connect a separate storage drive but it’ll be slower than the built in one.

I’ll be downvoted to hell for saying this. But in this event I think it’s better for you to upgrade to Win 11 or maybe even move to MacOS (mac mini is pretty cheap), though I don’t know if you’ll find your replacement apps.
I use Win for work (no choice there) and Ubuntu at home (just browse the net, and only browser applications).
It typically happens during updates. People have reported their grub screwing up. If you’re able I would honestly suggest separate drives
Exactly, Twitter still has over 200 million DAU. Thread has about 30 million, Bluesky has less. Mastodon is worse.
Things like my city’s metro communication is still on Twitter. People aren’t going leave anytime soon.
They need to get off Twitter. Go back to using the Press for official statements of high importance. And use Mastodon (Bluesky can interact with Mastodon instances in the future iirc) for rest. As a longer term project, move govt systems to Linux.
