Jesus fuck. Just make games and make the combat system that makes sense for that game. This isn’t rocket science. If you have a creative turn-based idea, use it. If you have a cool action combat idea, in c/[email protected]

@Gradually_[email protected] It’s the “Hollywood-ification” of videogames. Only safe low risk bets on big games. And please try to use established IP.

So it’s up to the indies and smaller studios to innovate and dream and have fun.

@[email protected] I hear 9 is tighter, more constrained, and while less bright and pretty, still a fun Ys experience. Going to hold off, take a moment try some other stuff now that action JRPGs are unlocked for me then try out 9 on my Steam Deck later

I don’t know Why blogs are suddenly ranking horror games, but the lack of Half-Life on any of these lists is pretty fucked up. That’s some OP shit right there! in c/[email protected]

@[email protected] I've been replaying OG Half-Life for the first time since it came out. It's absolutely a horror game. Trapped in a underground science lab while monster jump scare & try to kill you. Nary a soundtrack to be heard! That's horror baby!

@[email protected] It’s an absolute blast! Almost acts more like a 3D RPG Metroidvania with a simple but really good story.

As a mostly turn-based player, this action game is scratching a whole different itch!

Sucks when none of the games “click”. I think Dragon Quest XI is fine, but it feels empty, I’m just going through the motions. Put back on Hundred Line demo some more then got back on Persona 3 in c/[email protected]
