I’m not a fan of current Mozilla leadership, but the symptoms you’re seeing just sound like shitty Meta programming.

A lot of people are watching it, but I ducked out after episode two. I read the books and I felt like it was overly broad in comparison.

The TV adaptation rushes through the story, and doesn’t take its characters seriously. The books aren’t really a broad comedy like the show. For example, the books were more respectful of gender and sexuality. It wasn’t played for laughs except as the bot’s perspective of how he didn’t relate to it or understand the point of it. Same with a lot of the other characteristics of the humans. The humans in the book aren’t actually bumbling idiots, that’s just how the bot perceives them. I felt like the show was missing the point.

I did enjoy how the tv show portrayed “sanctuary moon” though.

If you haven’t read the books, I recommend them. There’s only like one real clunker in the set.

I’m reminded of all the rural voters in Texas that vehemently didn’t want “private school vouchers”… but voted Republican anyway.

The lawsuit is about being trapped in the vehicle, not about the batteries catching fire. You can burn to death in a gas-powered car as well, but chances are you’d be able to open the door handles in any other vehicle after a crash. That’s the safety problem they are suing over.

How about penning some more episodes of Raised By Wolves?

They’ll probably get jobs in other countries now. The brain drain caused by this administration is going to hurt this country for years to come.

Being a session musician and being a ”star” are completely different. Session musicians aren’t required to sing and dance, stay fit, do interviews, go on tour, do press junkets.

Both session musicians and pop stars can be talented at what they do.

They are also due to coffee growers switching to crops that generate just as much profit but are much easier to grow and harvest. Like durian.

Florida says a lot of things. They are often wrong.

Look for a stereo plug aux-in port on the car’s stereo. You can get a Bluetooth receiver that will plug into that if there’s no usb input built into the car. This will let you listen to music, audiobooks, podcasts, etc from your phone using your car speakers.

This also works with turn by turn navigation prompts that come from the phone.

Just remember to keep your phone plugged into a charger on your trip so that using it this way doesn’t drain the battery.

Will they re-use the land for traditional solar panels? I mean they already own the acreage, and it’s already connected to the grid.

I know that some people eat celery with hummus. Or put pimento cheese or peanut butter on it. Are there any other foods that you think go well with celery? I’ve got some celery in my fridge that I’m trying to eat up.

Posting the boingboing link because the illustration is gold.

Here’s the link to the Wired story:

Apps like Bluesky allow you to create a list of block words for anything you don’t want to see. Is there already a feature request logged for this? I wouldn’t mind seeing a way to mass block the following:

  • word or phrase in title (like kardashian)
  • word in link source (like dailymail)
  • word in sublemmy (like meme)
  • word in tag (like #sports)

I dunno if it would significantly slow down app rendering of the feed, or if this kind of blocking would have to be a feature request for the server side instead.

Thanks for your time.

Just what we need. More consolidation. 🙄

😂

Just finished reading an article about how raw alfalfa sprouts easily spread e-coli, but the problem could be solved by irradiation. So why don’t we?

After all, the US is the land of GMO, pesticides, washed eggs, chlorinated chicken, and pasteurized dairy. How could irradiated produce be any worse?

Oooowhhheeee. What absolute turd of an update. Who decided throwing a gagillion movie posters and buttons randomly on a screen was an “improvement”? Yikes.

Am I the only one that hits the story link when trying to tap reply or bookmark buttons? Feels like it could use a couple more blank horizontal pixel rows between the content and the toolbar.
