Gotta cite it -- Douglas Adams. (Didn't have to even look it up, it's one of my favorites too)

Do what you like? It takes a while. I tried 2 whole years of daily drawing for at least an hour. It wasnt a lifelong passion or anything, i just thought it would be cool to be able to sketch people. At 2 years I decided that I still suck and won't get better and quit. Now I'm a mediocre bike racer. I still suck, but I enjoy it a bit more and it keeps me fit. Im late 30s btw

I'd never drank it until I was 32. I decided to start drinking it because all the soda I've had throughout my life (pretty much addictrd to mountain dew, Dr pepper, and red bull throughout my life) was starting to catch up to me. Soda is way worse for you than coffee, and I wanted a healthier option. I hated it at first but kept drinking it. Now I look forward to it. 2 cups a day, any more than that and I get anxious and jittery. And best of all, haven't had soda since (except the occasional jarittos). Still have never drank alcohol though, addiction runs in my family

If everyone had an ebike, getting on and off the train would be a complete pain in the ass. I guess if there were lock boxes it might be OK, but hundreds of people trying to get their bike on a train would be a nightmare

In their mind they do. "Love the sinner, not the sin" is what they always say. They think them caring about the person being less gay is them "loving them"

The homeless where they are booting people in downtown SF are 100%. I live 10 miles from there and see it. I agree with your claim, but location has a lot to do with the type of homeless. Oakland for example has a lot of people you're talking about. Also read my second paragraph

I'm as liberal as the next guy, and i know this will definitely not be a popular opinion here, but honestly we need to stop giving homeless people a free pass and I'm fucking serious. A lot of these people do it only because they can get away with it. They need to know that what they are doing isn't OK. It's not the answer, there really isn't a single answer, but we also can't just keep enabling them. I say this as a person with a homeless meth addict sister, a brother in law who's been on drugs his whole life and is currently in section 8, and a sister in law who got her shit together after being a homeless addict. I also have family who have volunteered full time at shelters and food banks

Most of these homeless there are either addicts or severely mentally ill and need help. Of course I'm just referring to the addicts here, the mentally ill need help. Homeless families down on their luck aren't included here, they typically know where support is and are using it.

I still remember a 2 day assignment we had of finding scientific articles, and classifying them as trustworthy or not. Ie, was it in a peer reviewed journal vs a study at a "clinic" that has bias in the outcome. I remember that to this day and feel like it was a major shift toward my ability to think critically

Which is sad, because the only winners are the gun manufacturers. They want you to fear your neighbors
