For me, I realize that I need to just say a couple of words to make it a pleasant exchange, but not being able to really share my feelings feels frustrating, kinda like how a kid feels frustrated when they need to moderate their feelings. A lot of the time I'm really exhausted and unhappy too so that makes it worse that I can't vent and have to moderate myself cuz I'm in a perpetual state of trying to keep my mask from slipping from burnout

You are definitely right about vacation days; I guess I never really consider that people would be in their trailer for months at a time, so that's a good point. But it's not like people in other countries don't ever go on vacation, so I wonder what their planning looks like? Pointing to cars is just one thing but I think the frustrating thing is just the extreme excessive consumption habits we have in the US.

As an aside I'd be really curious to see breakdowns of like, all of the big truck owners and how often they use their trucks for towing, work, etc.

I think the difference in opinion here though is that you have a small truck but recognize that you do have reasons to upgrade, instead of starting out with one of the monster trucks and not ever really using it to the potential that it has all while creating way more emissions and it being way more dangerous

I mean if our culture wasn't so car centric and centered around instant gratification that wouldn't be an issue, it's not too hard to rent a car at all, especially if you've been planning a year long trip. Not trying to soapbox here, though, I'm very reliant on my car too and see doing all that as an inconvenience, but I realize how absurd it is to feel that way.

I haven't seen Barbie (yet) but I'd probably want to see it second anyway, as a palate cleanser.

I think I have noticed more crappy behavior as well over the past week or so that I've been more active, but I have tended to notice that not as many people feed the trolls as they would on reddit. Downvotes and people move on instead of engaging, it's nice.

I think you can see logs on lemmy, I'm pretty sure I saw a beehaw log but I don't know how to access them

Depending on the instances you look at, reddit is center right compared to lemmy. Lemmy is full of socialists and communists gasp

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I hope so, it's been like two full months since lemmy has been 85 percent posts about reddit. If I see another fuck u/spez post I'm going to vom. I'm happy to be on the connect app though where I can hide those posts, makes browsing way more bareable

Have you ever spent weeks and months and years of being so sad that you don't even want to exist anymore? And the feeling won't stop, so you start thinking that you want to die instead of not exist? Then that turns into wanting to kill yourself instead of just wanting to die, then that turns into daydreaming about the different ways that you'll kill yourself, and then turns into trying to figure out how to get what you need to do it, and where to do it?

Yeah, mood stabilizers help with that.
