“I hate a 9-to-5 schedule,” Biggs said. “I get home and I don’t want to do anything else."

Ok, relatable... continue.

"Like, women aren’t built for this."

Oh. Ok then.

I wish I understood the mind of a conservative. Like being frustrated with how physically and mentally draining a 9-5 job is, and immediately jumping to misogyny is just... wow. Not to mention all of the hypocritical sexist stuff she said in the rest of the article. Honestly if she wasn't causing others harm with her platform and policy I'd feel bad for her; that's gotta be some harsh self loathing and internalized misogyny to think that way all the time.

"Normal" social media tends to deteriorate my mental health rather quickly. Whether it's the infinite scroll or types of posts there or both, it generally sucks. I saw the link to this instance in a youtube video a while back (i can't for the life of me remember which video, it might've been simpleflips? idk) and decided to check it out. The smaller user base, control over my feed, lack of advertisements, and a more human-friendly UI make lemmy much more pleasant to use, and easier to regulate how much I end up browsing. The smaller quantity of posts and comments can be a bit of a let down sometimes but that just gives me more incentive to post and interact since it won't get lost in the void too. Overall it's just a more pleasant experience. Being federated means it's a bit more bulletproof so-to-speak than something like cohost was (I miss that site); if blahaj ever shuts down I can move to another instance and still get to use lemmy which is nice. As for matrix, I haven't tried it yet.

Web UI is down (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

For me at least. lemmy.blahaj.zone doesn't load but phtn.lemmy.blahaj.zone does.

Summer league is still getting started and I'm curious what y'all are thinking so far.

I haven't watched every game but I have some thoughts myself. I thought Tim Connelly was crazy for drafting another French center but I understand it now, Joan getting 7 blocks in his first game has convinced me that he can replace (and possibly exceed) Gobert in the future. Dilly, TSJ, and Clark were exciting too, the wolves' young core is looking nice especially on defense.

I had higher hopes for pistons' 2nd round pic Chaz Lanier, I'm hoping he gets some better catch-and-shoot looks going forward but those aren't as common in summer league. Ron Holland on the other hand might as well have been LebRon Holland. 28pts 11reb 3stl 4/5 3pt is impressive, especially the improved shooting, I hope it's not a fluke.

Speaking of fluke, all eyes have been on Cooper Flagg and Bronny James. We'll see in a couple hours if Coop can have a better game today, 5/21 from the field is rough though. Bronny was playing lockdown defense too which seems to be his new identity, we'll see if he can keep this up, he could be a rotational player going forward.

Anyways would love to hear what other people are thinking and feeling so far!
