I lost a Samsung board after leaving and coming back, similarly to yours it was mid cycle and died and when I inspected the main board you could see a scorch mark on the board right past where the power feeds in. Board was all epoxied/resin covered so just swapped the board itself with an ebay one and it all came back to life.
These largely are never fused so your assumption about it taking out the other board may be correct mine just had normal buttons. Without having a manual it will be difficult to know what readings are correct with your meter unless you took readings before it blew up. If it's something you intend on keeping I would try to find a manual online as a pdf you can purchase if possible I did that with my fridge and have needed to a number of times.
*arr stack with Jellyfin is great if you have some sort of server, Pi, NUC etc and don't mind setting it up. Large USB HDD to that will suffice for most people build it out more if ya need. Pi4 with a 14tb powered usb external works great.
Lacking hardware or not wanting the setup I'd go stremio as others have suggested it's about as easy as it gets. Leagues ahead of the old Kodi with add-ons days where you'd have to pick 20+ streams before you got a good one lol
