AlphaEvolve legit just discovered a faster method of 4x4 matrix multiplication (1 fewer multiply), and that's a subject that's had a ton of eyes on it for decades. It's pretty impressive actually!
quilan
So complex or quaternion I imagine? 'i' it is!
This has always been one of my favorite short stories. For those who might not know the reference: https://users.ece.cmu.edu/~gamvrosi/thelastq.html
For some further mind fuckery on the subject, I highly recommend this video on the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkH1citHtgs. Dude never misses in interesting content.
I wasn't expecting to be sad in this thread but there it is. "I am the very model of a scientist Salarian..."
I can't help but notice that the area with the largest 1 year change in housing prices in Florida is right where the hurricanes hit last year...
Seeing these guys in concert had been a blast each time. That said, I'm curious how the new lineup will be.
I really enjoyed the spaceship game Solar Winds, but would occasionally run into a wild bug where rotating the ship to a specific angle would launch it in a negative x direction.
Likewise, I wish another game would work a magic creating/ programming-lite system like Legend/Four Crystals Of Trazere(US). It was way too fun crafting wild magical spells from the basic ingredients.
What a legendary album & band. Man, I miss 'em.
sharks first [sic] Damn you swipe keyboard!
Good ol' Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Discovered it with bananas as a child, apple as a teen, and the following as a young adult: peaches, pears, apricots, kiwifruit, cherries, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, to name a few. It was weird how each fruit would effectively just flip a switch randomly during my development.
That said, cooking the fruit denatures the proteins, so eg. apple pie is great!
Person of Interest was a show that started episodic and evolved into an incredibly thrilling epic. Fuck the main actor though.
