I've been reading Wheel of Time book 5, The Fires of Heaven. Should finish this week but the next book is checked out at the library, so not sure what I'll read while I wait for it to become available.

That's interesting about the creative control. I did notice the books getting better but didn't know about the impact of publisher interference. Do you have any more info on what sort of things the publisher was pushing for? I'm scared to search for it because of the abundance of spoilers (I'm only on book 5).
I'm on book 5 right now and it's quite the ride. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have been.
How do you like books 2 and 3? I really liked book 1, but was nervous that the other books wouldn't be able to compare/maintain the same tone so I haven't picked them up yet.
Currently on The Shadow Rising (Wheel of Time book 4). Been reading it at an insane (for me) pace to hopefully finish this week. This book had a slow start but for the last few hundred pages, I've been absolutely hooked. Can't wait to see where this series goes and how the characters continue to grow.
I've been meaning to read his work. Do you think it should be read in the order it was published or can the related series be read in any order?
Yeah historically I've just binged through series but I've never read one so long and am a bit worried about it. I plan to join a monthly book club run by my library starting next month so that will force me to break things up (and push me away from reading almost exclusively fantasy). Hopefully it helps!
I'm still on Wheel of Time book 3 (The Dragon Reborn). I'll probably finish it this week and move on to... book 4 lol. Trying to keep my momentum up as long as I can. Helps that I've been really enjoying the story so far.
I read through Earthsea last year and I just went in the order they were published in. I would caution that books 1 and 2 feel very different so if you aren't big on the first one, give the second one a shot before you call it quits.
Just finished Wheel of Time book 2 (The Great Hunt) and about to start book 3 (The Dragon Reborn). I absolutely devoured book 2 so I'm super eager to continue.
I just started The Great Hunt (Wheel od Time book 2). Too early to say how I'm feeling about it but the series overallhas me intrigued.
I like it a lot! The books are long (sometimes maybe longer than necessary), but the author is consistently managing to capture and hold my attention. Some things are predictable but there have also been twists that I didn't see coming. I can't wait to see how the characters will continue to grow and how the story will unravel.
