Everybody who is hated and popular gets death threats. Hell, even the nicest actors get death threats.

They are easy to write and send, and there's 0.01% of the population that is mentally unstable enough to actually do so. You and I don't get death threats because we aren't popular enough.

Pulseaudio was introduced in 2004. How come it took almost 20y for it to be replaced if it was that bad?

Did you learn nothing from X11 usage? May I remind you that X11 was invented by Xerox in the fucking 80s?!

Bad software attaches itself to OSs like a cancer.

Not even mods can do this in Reddit, though. Seems like an unreasonable restriction.

If only there was a system that logged every moderator action into a public page that everybody can see. Maybe we can call it "modlog" or something like that.

Mobile games to me are basically just one giant scam that forces you to pay or have a horrible time in comparison.

There are so many ports of PC games that are far better than the "exclusively mobile" category of games.

That's not true. There are other ways of influencing the numbers that tools use. Most of them have their own internal voting systems, so that humans can give feedback to directly influence the LLM.

Diffusion models have LoRAs, and the models themselves can be trained on top of the base model.

People want to charge $15-20 for a CD, and if I did that for every album I listened to on Spotify, I would have spent at least a luxury car's worth of music. I'm not going to ever pay that much again. Concert prices are already bad enough.

Piracy or streaming, pick one. Because the choices we had before that sucked.

The real problem is oversaturation, and the general worth of music. Good music is everywhere. People are making it every day and putting it out there, on Spotify, Bandcamp, wherever, and it's all free or very cheap to listen to. Why should I specifically pay attention to Yee or Lil Shitstain or whatever is the college rock band of the week that got insanely popular?

Your co-worker is bad at his job, and doesn't understand programming.

LLMs are cool tech, but I'm gonna code review everything, whether it comes from a human or not.

How Greed Ruined Gaming (www.youtube.com)

To most of us, this is probably just a summary of events over the past year or so. But, it's good to know that this sort of news is reaching non-gaming channels.
