The most powerful person in the U.N. building is the one who sets the prices at the gift shop.

I bought a brother color laser printer during lockdown, 4 years and it's never had an issue, and I have yet to change the cartridges. I'll never go back to inkjet.

In 1st grade I couldn't spell worth a damn, the teacher told us to write "in the future I want to be" then write what we wanted to be when we grew up. I wrote mine, handed it in, and later that day my parents got called in.

After a parent teacher conference they called me in and asked me to read what I had wrote, I read exactly what I was told to write them looked at them confused about what was wrong. The teacher calmly stood up walked to the chalkboard and wrote future, then explained that the word I had written was a bad word and I need to remember how to spell future. Later in the car I asked my parents what was the word I wrote, and they said it's a bad word. After nagging all the way home my dad snapped and said "you wrote fucker, it's a bad word and don't ever say say it".

I'm 41 now and they still bring that one up from time to time. Turns out when the teacher went to the chalkboard she was trying to avoid looking at my parents who were trying not to laugh, and that was making her laugh, so she turned to the chalkboard to get herself under control.

Having spent a year and a half in a relationship with a bipolar woman who regularly refused to take her meds, this is a common thing. Goes off the meds, gets paranoid, believes people are out to get them, turns on everyone trying to help.

It's nearly impossible to get through the mindset that someone in that state is in. I had to take my ex to the hospital twice to get her committed so they could force her to take her meds. It's horrible, and you fight having to do that to someone you care about, but sometimes it's the only way to help them.

In an emergency he'd have to ask for the number for 911.

That would be a major character flaw of mine, when I fall for someone I will suppress myself because I know I have ADHD and when I get excited I can be a bit much. And let's face it, when I first fall for someone I'm a bit excited.

I get what you're saying but it is kind of a funny paradox, if you like being alone bring someone into that. But I know you're saying find someone who's ok with what I like, staying home a lot, and will understand when I randomly get up and go get on my computer because the ADHD brain just had an idea and needs to go down the rabbit hole "sorry Hun, I'll be back in 5 to 7 hours" lol.

Thanks for the advice, it's definitely something to think about and remember if I do find that special shut in hermit that completes me.

Well I have the dad belly.... so that's something! Also I do have an unhealthy love of dad jokes, and by unhealthy I mean one coworker has threatened me if I told another one....all in jest of course.

Thanks for the explanation, I finally had a little time to read up on the stag hunt aspect and what I read basically said what you said just in a more long winded way, lol.

41 here, I was there too. It's not that bad, just take care of yourself now. At your age I ate fast food, never exercised, and basically lived on caffeine, nicotine, and stress endorphins from working all the time. Now at my last check up, I'm overweight, my knees are shot, my back hurts all the time, and I have chronic acid reflux.

You are young enough that you can get a head start on aging, what you should do daily is exercise, eat healthy, and take some personal time/mental health time for yourself everyday to reduce stress. You don't want to end up like me and be facing a huge uphill battle to get healthy.
