I have so many thoughts! I think your experience is very relatable, I bet many people reading this are thinking “wait does this person work on my team or for my company?”.

If you have a trusted friend or a therapist you can talk with I think that’d be helpful to sort out how burnt out you are and how much longer you can sustain this. But even just based on your original comments alone, it really seems like a change up would be helpful. If you have friends or even friends of friends in a similar field but different company, ask around about work culture and try to find an organization that does things differently. I do think work stress management techniques are useful no matter what kind of role / company you work for, but still…. Seems like it’s time for you to get away from your current situation. Yeah that’s fair, and to be sure I don’t engage with mine as frequently as say an iPhone. But for the things I do use it for… mainly activity-related stuff, weather, at a glance notifications… I really appreciate it.

I try to be an empathetic person but it’s hard to imagine being so stuck in that kind of bubble. I know people are more apt to fall into it than they realize (myself included)… but still.

The communities I’m used to are usually REALLY into the lore, the memes, the meta. It can be fun to sift through but I’m not a contributor really. I would love a more casual focused space.
