Calling whatever you like "profit" cant really be rebutted, it's subjective semantics.
Yes CEOs are paid lots of money. Why would mozilla choose to over pay staff?

So the profit from the for-profit is passed up to the non-profit.
This is a really common organisational structure and not bizarre.
There's loads of worthy criticisms to make of mozilla but this is not one of them.
Why would an organisation choose to over spend on executive salaries?
Obviously, it's because thats what it costs to get people with the right skills.
I thought mozilla was a non profit?
Ooohh this is blog spam?
Sorry I thought it was a question.
Obviously negative gearing and capital gains tax concessions have to go. I think gone completely, all at once is probably not the right move but I'll let the modelling people figure that out.
That said, using interest rates as a way to throttle economic activity is fucking bullshit.
With the eye watering interest rates we've had over the last several years it's been Gen X and under doing the heavy lifting while as usual boomers enjoy the benefits.
I don't really have a solution but fuck me there has to be a better way.
What on earth is a modern terminal?
There's lots of terminal emulators. I like ghostty. You can just install it.
Does that mean Gates will be "good" if he spends all his money on vaccines and then dies of natural causes?
I'm not going to make a blanket claim like "philanthropy is not misused to avoid taxes", because of course in some limited cases it is, but your assertion that the motivation for the Gates foundation is to avoid taxes is baseless. It's a common idea that you've subscribed to, but you're unable to back it up with even a vague idea.
The Gates Foundation has made Gates' significantly less wealthy.
I'll ask you directly: why would you become less wealthy in order to avoid tax?
This doesn't make any sense.
He's been doing this since long before Epstein was arrested.
He also doesn't need to launder money because he's already paid tax on all his money. He's becoming demonstrably, significantly less wealthy in the course of distributing vaccines. If he were laundering money he would be becoming more wealthy.
This doesn't make much sense to me.
Sure. Gates is not a "nice" person. The business practices involved in becoming a billionaire require him to be a vile human being. Granted.
That said, he has given up his place on the leaderboard. He has become dramatically less wealthy as a result of his philanthropic work.
What are you claiming is Gates' motivation here? Not getting murdered? Come on. There are much more practical, reliable, and cheaper means to achieve that.
This smells like BS.
Is mozilla non-profit, not-for-profit, or for-profit?
You dont really know do you.
"I dont like mozilla so ill just assume they must be profiteering assholes somehow"
"Its the vibe of the thing"
