I found a couple of snails on my broccoli last night and threw them over the fence

Oh yeah and my squashes haven't fruited at all yet, lazy bastards

My area's been getting pounded by thunderstorms and heavy rainfall (like 1"/hr) and luckily my plants have survived and it knocked off almost all of the aphids! My tomato plant is fruiting, I've got jalapeños, serranos, and bell peppers on the vine. The basil is going crazy and the rest of my garden is just doing great also :3

I think total the amount of money I've put into this garden for soil and a couple tools (a transfer shovel was like $20) was only about $50. I got the milk crates for "free" (thanks dollar general hehe) and the woven bag for free from a coffee shop, the cardboard boxes for free from Walmart, I bought one bucket and had this metal truck on hand from moving in college, but could've just as easily made the wall supports out of free pallet wood. If I had an actual yard I could've done everything for less than $10 not including water and seeds/starts, but I got all of those on SNAP EBT so basically free. The mulch and compost I got for free from my city.

Green thumb praxis. You don't need a million dollars, herbicides and pesticides to grow your own food. You just need some dirt, water and seeds (and probably some microbial assistance. Maybe also urine.)

I got it as a start at the beginning of the month. I also don't have any yard so can't plant it in-ground. Thanks for the advice though

Pot is about 1 gallon, I've read that these types should be in a 5gal or even 10gal pot. I also haven't seen any issues with the plant so far; growing and fruiting like crazy. Should I transplant to a big pot or just leave it be for now?

The difference between Israeli violence against Palestinians and Palestinian violence against Israelis is that Israel colonized Palestine.

I'm tired of liberals both-sidesing this bullshit, not only on the internet as a whole but on fucking [email protected]? YDI.

The Nazis imprisoned those who spoke out. Sound familiar?

Simping for the government is passivity. It's complacency. Hey, watch this: I want to assassinate the leader of AfD! With a bullet! To the temple!

I steal shit, I have sex in public, I advocate for violence and I'll do it proudly. If you're not willing to go to prison for what you believe in, then you don't really believe it now do you?

The best advice I have is to practice writing proper prose in a stream of consciousness style. Try to not edit other than with the delete button on what you just wrote. At least, that's how I got to my kind of eloquence.

You know how people advise you to read you writing aloud to hear how it sounds? Phrasing, readability, etc. I think the skill I have that helps the most is being able to write cogent and speakable language from a stream of consciousness. Try typing exactly how you speak, errors, accents and local expressions all included. It's a skill, yeah. Turning your vocalized speech into internal speech into written language; you get to the point where you can produce written language that sounds like someone speaking naturally.

As for flow and getting a point across? Studying prose helps. Simple things like "shorter sentences make a punchier phrase" or whatever help. Having a written style helps also. I'm not exactly sure if any of this helps, but thank you for complimenting my eloquence. I've never felt particularly eloquent - but I do speak my mind and only my mind. Popular opinion and groupthink are for unoriginal people. Sure, you can hold a popular opinion, but you've also got to have a reason for it that you can express.

Was so happy to see my sad, under-soiled tomato plant putting out flowers, but it's also attracted aphids! I'm too poor to even afford pesticides, and was planning on growing organic anyways, but I'm not getting any help with pest predators from the surrounding apartment environment (cropped lawn grass and dandelions)

How do I attract natural predators of plant pests, like hoverflies, parasitoid wasps, ladybeedles and others without just buying a pack from a store? I want to engage in the war on bugs on the side of bugs, but the bugs that eat the bugs that eat my plants, for essentially a budget of $0. How the hell am I supposed to do this...

Oh and if anyone's wondering, I bought these plants from the farmer's market on EBT because they were cheap but I can't buy any dirt or bigger pots. So I'm working with the best I got until I get a job and a paycheck

The former conservatives:

Just so there's something on this comm, I wanted to ask people what DNS they use. Personally I just used 8.8.8.8 cause that's the default from AT&T, but I've been wanting to switch over to OpenNIC DNS servers cause I support their whole idea
