Just finished The Weight of Living and it was good but I found myself more invested in gabi/soledad than gabi/trisha. I’m not sure why… I think maybe they just had more chemistry or something? Like there was this sense of yearning where they were both into each other whereas with gabi and trisha it felt more platonic until the end. I think gabi and soledad also seemed closer? Like they were constantly hanging out and we got to see gabi discover herself with soledad while with trisha gabi was more closed-off and guarded. I’m also just a huge sucker for discovering-your-sexuality/gender-and-realizing-you’re-in-love-with-your-best-friend stories so that probably played a part

Counter point: propaganda value aside, it really is pathetic how long it took the u.s. to kill bin laden. Especially when you consider that the taliban offered to hand him over to the u.s.

i was working so didn't catch it all but i swear she was actually crafting some convuluted spiritual explanation for being trans. something about masc and feminine energy. almost jordon peterson stuff and then starts basically saying it's ok for boys to be into feminine stuff and girls to be into masculine stuff

It’s a pretty common terf talking point that trans people are all gnc cis people who transition to avoid the stigma (somehow they think being trans means you face less stigma)
