Finally, Spectacle has all the features that I have missed from ShareX during my Windows days. Much love to the developers, you are the best!

There are quite a lot of clients for that, actually. Just search for "Youtube Music" on F-Droid and you will be presented with a myriad of choices. My personal favourite is Metrolist.

How many war crimes did Himmler commit himself? What about other high-ranking NSDAP members, were they innocent?

USA is also full of immigrants. The far-right rhetoric there is about "bad" immigrants, who are coming into the country now rather than about the "good" whites that colonised this territory earlier.

Of course. Sorry, but I meant no middleman as in minifying the role of the server in your messahing. Signal's goal is to ensure the server cannot have access to your messages and its only role is to receive and send data.

It's focused on ensuring there is no middleman between you and the other party, but it does not have a goal to provide anonymous messaging. Sadly.

I provided links to their websites in the original comment.

Since when does it not? I have found Privacy Guides community the sanest in that regard so far. I suppose you ran into some people in the discussions that are not related to the PG team and misconcluded that this is the opinion that Privacy Guides endorses.

Anyway, other communities that are usually more accepting over the radical ones are The New Oil and PrivSecDev. But again, note that this topic attracts many people with tin foil hats. No matter where you go, you will stumble upon them.

Device checking is not a usual thing, especially when you're far from the frontlines but still, better safe than sorry. I know a friend of a friend had his phone checked and the cop was very confused about seeing a Telegram feed full of communist channels and the guy had to think of some shitty excuse for that. I'm pretty sure he would've been taken for further questioning if he wasn't young enough at the time for the cop to take his word.

Also don't expect an airstrike in my city. (At this point)

VERY dangerous mentality. Drones are cheap, some types of missiles are too. The attacks will target anything that can be hit, e.g. if obvious places are well guarded with AA, then the attacks will switch to anything less important. Also, keep in mind that missiles and drones malfunction, AA guns can shoot them down over your house etc.

You will know better whether you should be worried about airstrikes later into the war, when the power of both armies will be known to the public. As for now, take this excessively seriously.

I'm good with filtering news. If I have one skill in life thats it.

News feeds will get worse with more news coming in and way more fake info than during peace time. Hell, some trusted news sources could turn into awful ones. Brace yourself to discover unmeasurable levels of chauvinism from influencers you've never expected to be that violent and hateful.

Not asking anything, just warning that this will be a shit show and you should brace yourself. Possibly try to avoid anything Indian for a while, because there will be a witch hunt for the first few weeks.

Drop any attempts to reconvince your non-close friends of anything your state propaganda will say. It will take them a long time to come back to their senses and think for themselves. This is just unproductive, a fight you can't win. Any propagandist and activist work will be frozen for a while, but you can plan your activities with keeping in mind the fact that it will become possible later.

Think of security measures. You will have your electronic devices checked by law enforcement from both sides should you meet them. Make your digital footprint neutral while you don't have to worry about keeping yourself alive yet; you will have little time for it later.

Prepare a backpack with your most important items like documents, money, first aid etc. and put it somewhere you can grab in the first minute of hearing an alarm warning of an airstrike and go to shelter ASAP.

Should the full-scale war break out, put SIGNIFICANT effort into filtering out your news sources or else your feed will be full of lies, or it will make you go insane. Emphasis on the latter, the whole war thing hits your brain very hard.

  • Sincerely, a Ukrainian.

At first I thought you were talking about some edition that the UN remastered and was really confused.

Went to visit this godforsaken place and was terrified by the amount of racist/xenophobic/nazi/misogynistic/incel/far-right posts and comments.

Was it always like that? Am I too used to being on Lemmy (or Fediverse in general)? Is it just my feed or is it like this for everybody?

If you zoom in you can clearly see the Steam delivery girl using Windows 11 theme for KDE Plasma. It is so awesome that Valve artists pay attention even to the smallest details!

Thank god we don't live in some ridiculous Eastern European mass surveilance red terror dystopia. Anything even remotely close will never happen under a democratic leadership
