Fun fact: I never ever even heard the name Toshiro Mifune.
I just can't… why do people wear ignorance as a badge of honor nowadays?

I only play 3 genres, so I probably won't be of much help:
My only rule is: the reviewer's level of interest in/knowledge about the genre has to match mine.
I watched the highlights of dunkey's stream the other day and laughed out loud a number of times, TBF.
I think Juzou and Genichiro is where I stopped. Game's offense is so boring I realized I'll have much more fun if I replay Ninja Gaiden 2 again, so I went and did that instead.
I've never paid more than $20 for a game.
And I wouldn't play Borderlands 4 for free, TBH. If they pay me my hourly rate, I may consider it depending on contract length. Other than that, fuck off, Gearbox.
Hmm… sure, but ima die on the hill Mad Max should be a linear game with sole focus on vehicular/melee combat. I don't really think it needs to be an open world game.
Needs a modern port so bad.
Assault Spy comes to mind.
And Mad Max maybe?
I thought the combat was too dull. That said, I'll cheer for Zelda-likes any day—they at least try to innovate harder than the average indie.
Running on water in NG2 is super fucking cool.
In The Wonderful 101, you can dive under water when you carry a hammer (heavy weapon), otherwise you swim on the surface.
Looks like you'll to need to wait and see what the GrapheneOS team will recommend until they come out with their own phone. Maybe Pinephone for now? Or older Pixel, perhaps.
Hmm… metroidvanias never really stick the landing for me, but I had fun playing through SotN back in the day, and I'll shout out a couple of modern ones with fun combat: F.I.S.T: Forged in Shadow Torch and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
I never posted anything from my PoP gameplay, but this is a clip showcasing on-the-fly weapon switching in F.I.S.T: https://video.hardlimit.com/videos/watch/9ba87a0a-ae01-4931-8d74-58e38dddb621
