Rest assured, I'm from Lisbon and all family is as well. I never thought of any place in Portugal as "inbred" (other stereotypes apply to different regions though). Love the Azores, btw.

You're taking an authoritarian perspective. Fair, but I disagree. Tolerance is important because we as a society grow and evolve due to the discussion of ideas, simple or complex as they may be.
The paradox is that to achieve a tolerant society we must be absolutely intolerant to intolerant ideas otherwise intolerance "wins" and becomes the norm.
Exactly: in order to promote tolerance we must be intolerant to intolerance. It's a paradox described by Popper.
Maybe don't charge as much?
Why are you hoarding wealth?
The extreme poverty one is laughable especially when criteria to define extreme poverty is ridiculous. Extreme poverty in places where you earn less than $1.90 but can still have subsistence farming and community doesn't make sense - also if living in San Francisco and earning $2/day isn't extreme poverty... I don't know what is.
Poverty shouldn't be tied to capital but to standards of living - that would be a completely different story.
