Mon pretends to be gormless liberal politician, putting up performative resistance by making petitions, bills, and whipping up losing votes in the senate as a front. She's actually also funding, sheltering and raising a fully radical armed insurgent military force with jets and motherships. Bernard Sanders (I-VT) could never..

You don't have to these days, you can freeze them, and make them battle online for eternity, if you build the monster competitively (with min-max'd stats) you can enter and re-enter tournaments (it is CPU vs. CPU, all you have to do is sign up) for eternal glory. If you don't build them competitively, you can just battle endlessly against other online upload monsters at your convenience, or battle it against other monsters that you raised, CPU vs. CPU control for your amusement, and you can unfreeze the monster and have them walk around your ranch. Or you can combine them with other monster in your ranch and build towards 999 in all stats god on earth.

The game is more or less solved, here is a tool https://legendcup.com/advanced-viewer-mr2.php so you can see all the hidden stats (stress, fatigue, etc.) and you'll know exactly how much lifespan your monster have left.

I'm a g*mer and I have not had the need to kill any virtual beings in 10 years. I mainly play Pokémon, Splatoon, Pro Evo (up to 2018, the new ones sucked), Mario Kart, fighting games (SF6, Guilty Gear), and competitive Monster Rancher 2 on constant rotation. Get on my level Elon.

Especially considering the fact that GRRM actually never had a good track record of writing decent ending, even in short stories and novellas - a medium where it is arguably easier to write a strong ending. Think about Edgar Allan Poe's 2 page Red Death story "and the red death held illimitable dominion over all" or other famous short stories (Chekov, Hemingway, etc.) with not a whole lot of buildup, but zinger endings where the authors utterly drive the message and theme home. GRRM is the reverse, tons of buildups but even his 100-page short story always sputters at the end. The best part about ASOAIF these days is unironically to finish the books, play victim and complain about TWOW never coming out (complaining is fun).

I've gone back and forth. Of course if you are selling a book series, there is some kind of expectation, promise and social contract between author and reader that there will be some kind of ending and payoff. The fact is GRRM still makes money off book sales, selling IP rights and franchises, making royalties out of expectation that one day he will finish the series. So I have the same reaction as most ASOAIF fan everytime we hear GRRM in the news that is not related to TWOW.

However, on the other hand, it is also a funny bit, and the insane fan theories and communities that sprung out of ASOAIF lore are great. In some ways, this is the best kind of conspiracy theory to be invested in, (1) it has no social consequences, (2) there is no such thing as coincidence in a world of fiction (everything is author's intent), and finally (3) you can make predictions to your heart's content and will never be wrong because GRRM will never finish the series.

So dragon lawyers are suing county jail for something serious (denying medical access), but the judges threw out the lawsuit because they are triggered by dragon logo?

I don't get it, who is suing who, and who won? Is the US still land of the free or purple dragon bad?

In the 70s and 80s, lefty guitar was much more rare and expensive than right handed guitar. Many contemporary guitarists at the time who come from working class background like Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Billy Corgan, and Elvis Costello are all left-handed but play right handed guitar.

https://jakartaglobe.id/special-updates/national-health-insurance-jkn-coverage-reaches-9819-pct

The Jakarta Globe August 9, 2024 | 11:17 am

Jakarta. The National Health Insurance scheme, better known by its acronym JKN, has reached a coverage of 98.19 percent of the total population, according to BPJS Kesehatan.

In other words, around 276.5 million people across the archipelago are registered JKN members. The high membership rate has earned Indonesia the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) award. Vice President Ma’ruf Amin recently said that the UHC status would call for collaboration between all stakeholders.

“The sub-national governments need to make sure that the people in their respective regions are active JKN members,” Ma’ruf said, while also stressing the need to make sure that people have no trouble accessing healthcare services.

According to the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the freshly earned award sought to recognize Indonesia’s success in achieving UHC.

“The UHC is important to make sure that anyone can access quality healthcare services. A UHC status takes great effort, including reaching people from all walks of life and making sure the management of this JKN program in terms of its financial sustainability,” ISSA’s president Mohammed Azman said.

BPJS Kesehatan president director Ghufron Mukti said JKN’s high coverage rate showed the government’s commitment to ensuring healthcare access for all.

“The achievement of UHC is not just a statistical figure, but a real manifestation of the state's responsibility in ensuring that every individual receives proper health services. This is also in line with our 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan that seeks a 98 percent JKN membership rate,” Ghufron said.

As of Aug. 1, BPJS Kesehatan has partnered with 23,205 of the so-called Primary Healthcare Facilities (FKTP) and 3,129 Advanced Referral Healthcare Facilities (FKRTL). BPJS Kesehatan has also partnered with floating hospitals to help people in remote areas.

Since its launch, the JKN Program has continued to show an increase in terms of both the number of participants and fund management. In 2014, BPJS Kesehatan received contributions of Rp 40.7 trillion. The numbers jumped to Rp 151.7 trillion in 2023.

"The collectibility of JKN contributions reached 98.62 percent in 2023. So people are now more aware of the importance of paying the JKN fees to maintain this program’s sustainability,” Ghufron said.

In 2023, BPJS Kesehatan disbursed Rp 34.7 trillion to handle 29.7 million cases of catastrophic diseases.

According to him, this is a major challenge for BPJS Kesehatan because, on the one hand, more and more people are being helped. However, on the other hand, BPJS Kesehatan must be able to control the cost of health services.

BPJS Kesehatan has also launched the JKN Mobile app which includes an online queue feature to cut the participants’ waiting time. The app also offers the i-Care JKN feature, which allows participants and doctors to see medical history, medicines, and actions that have been taken in the last 12 months.

BPJS Kesehatan also reported an increase in JKN services usage. In 2014, there were 92.3 million service users before it jumped to 606.7 million in 2023. BPJW Kesehatan’s financial reports have also earned high audit rates WTP and WTM for the tenth time in a row. This shows BPJS Kesehatan's consistency in implementing good governance, transparency, and accountability in managing the JKN program, according to Ghufron.

In a gripping encounter at the Amman International Stadium in Jordan, Korea’s impressive run in the Asian World Cup qualifiers hit a snag as they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Palestine on Tuesday. The match not only ended Korea's four-game winning streak but also proved to be a test of resilience for the squad.

Captain Son Heung-min, who showcased his undeniable talent, equalized for the 22nd-ranked Koreans just four minutes after Palestine had taken the lead, marking his 51st international goal and propelling him up the all-time scoring charts for Korea.

The Korean side had initially fallen behind to a shocking misstep from their usually reliable defender, Kim Min-jae, who undercooked a back pass, allowing Palestine's Zeid Qunbar to intercept the ball and slip it past goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-woo in the 12th minute.

However, Son quickly responded to the setback in the 16th minute with a well-placed shot, following a seamless exchange of passes involving Lee Myung-jae and Lee Jae-sung. Despite dominating possession throughout the match, Korea struggled to convert their chances, leaving them frustrated as the game drifted on.

Initially acting as the home side, Palestine played at a neutral venue amid the ongoing regional tensions, bringing added intrigue to this tightly contested clash. As the match progressed, Korea continued to press for a winning goal, but their attempts were thwarted by a packed defense, highlighted by a crucial stop from Palestinian goalkeeper Rami Hamada on a free kick by Son.

With Korea maintaining their lead in Group B with 14 points—secured from four victories and two draws, a six-point cushion above both Iraq and Jordan—the team remains in a strong position as they head into 2024. After a goalless draw against Palestine in their prior match back in September, this encounter showcased the growing competitive spirit of their opponents.

Korea's head coach, Hong Myung-bo, retained the same starting eleven that triumphed over Kuwait 3-1 last week. The team’s defensive line of Lee Myung-jae, Seol Young-woo, Kim Min-jae, and Cho Yu-min proved to be consistent, while Hwang In-beom and Park Yong-woo controlled proceedings in midfield.

As the match wore on, Korea made tactical changes to inject fresh energy into their attack, introducing forward Oh Hyeon-gyu and winger Bae Jun-ho. However, despite heightened urgency and determination, the Korean squad found it difficult to break down an increasingly resolute Palestinian side.

Late in the match, Son thought he had netted a second goal only for it to be ruled out for offside, illustrating both the fine margins and the frustrations of the game. Korea's next World Cup qualifying encounters will resume in March with consecutive home fixtures against Oman and Jordan. Read more:

This campaign in the third round is set to conclude in June with away and home matches against Iraq and Kuwait respectively. With the stakes higher than ever—the top two teams from each of the three groups securing a spot in the 2026 World Cup—Korea will be eager to find their scoring touch again and reclaim momentum in their quest for a place on football's grandest stage.

Korea, a consistent World Cup participant since 1986, has taken another step towards solidifying their presence in international football, but they will need to channel their frustrations from this draw into resolve for their upcoming challenges.
