I saw a post that automatically grabbed a NSFW furry thumbnail pic from somewhere but it wasn’t in the linked article, nor did it show up on Lemmy.

@lom I asked this question a few days ago in @kbinmeta . I think it’s to do with how upvotes (don’t) federate or how many comments are posted/ federate to an instance’s copy of a post.

The main subs I follow are more or less back to normal or never protested to begin with. Two tiny subs I mod have been getting hammered with Temu spam and because the built-in moderation tools don’t seem to help I set them to restricted.

The big difference is on /all. Some popular subs have been largely replaced like r/AITA -> r/AITAH & r/TwoHotTakes. But a lot of the usual content is completely missing and in their place are the food delivery and selfie subs.

Someone made a post that said, “I heard people on Lemmy will upvote anything, let’s see if that’s true.” It was a can of beans and did indeed get upvoted. Then everyone just ran with it and made memes.

I haven’t checked, but I assume a lot of these communities would have already been manually added to Kbin.social due to popularity (youshouldknow, ask, memes, tech, etc.)

Everyone would ask them about what was going on behind the scenes and if Spez is as short-sighted as he seems. They’d reply they signed NDAs about most of the questions being asked and quickly regret creating a spontaneous AMA and then never log in under that username again.

It would be nice if Kbin had a “local” sort option like Lemmy does.

Kebin is too similar to Kbin. Kibby or Bink is different enough.

I’m weary of people who make this mistake.
