Ever since I saw it in Japan I realized that it's just the best way. It eliminates all confusion about what "1am Tuesday" means. And 27:59 rolling into 4:00, or 28:59 rolling into 5:00, makes perfect sense since 4-5am is a normal sunrise time most of the year in Japan

I've seen a number of people who I know for a fact enjoyed Salad Fingers 20 years ago just unthinkingly dunking on skibidi toilet

I set it once like 6 years ago and forgot it wasn't something pre-installed and configured until I saw your comment. I was reading through the comments looking for the "you don't need to do anything, ddclient takes care of it"

I'm a pleb, barely literate in computers, just pretty okay at finding things I need on Google and blindly copying commands. Like I'm obviously extremely tech literate by the standards of the wider world solely by virtue of having a home server that runs things I use, but it's still using unraid because I'm an idiot who needs a helpful community space and forum so I can search how to fix problems confident that other idiots have also broken the thing the same way I did and I will find step by step directions on how to unfuck it

All that said, when it came time for my roughly annual reinstall of Windows just to clear house, they threw up an ad for Windows 11 and it pissed me off so bad I googled "gaming Linux", made a bootable USB of Garuda (I like the bird logo and didn't know what "Arch-based" meant except that it would make me a superior human) and within 15 minutes of getting mad I was installing, and it's just worked out of the box since

You laugh and you joke but I stumbled into a PS2 original, the fat one, with a network adapter so you can slot a hard drive in. I went into my spare parts and pulled out an old IDE hard drive, as the PS2 was before the spread of SATA (I think even before SATA was announced) and it popped right in and guess who doesn't have to worry about discs

Their denial rate was 8% when Brian Thompson became CEO and jumped to 22.7% after one year of his leadership. 32% is believable after 3 years, especially if it's true that the decision to train an LLM for the purpose of auto rejecting claims was his directive

I mean, in the US I'm pretty sure only Navy deals with shotguns, I think to prevent hull penetration? Coasties might for the same reason, but I've never hung out with any

According to the USDA, the US cattle industry contributes about 3.7% of US greenhouse gas emissions, and livestock as a whole is around 14.5% globally on a cursory search

I have in fact been to 5 gun shows that don't do background checks, and changed my mind about buying one I'd had my eye on when the guy behind the table opened with "I am not legally required to check your ID, just to ask if you intend to use a firearm to commit a crime, and I can't sell to you if you say yes". This was in Arkansas, around 2014-2015
