It has an effect on downloading because it at least one end has to have port forwarding exposed. A seeder without port forwarding can connect to you if you have port forwarding enabled. If neither side has their port exposed, no connection can be made.

I think this fits the definition of pirating as presented in the OP.
It's actually not bad. All the setup is the same except the IPs, so you can just add/change those. They're replicated across 5 ports per server, so that's a little annoying, but it's still just easy copy paste.
Works fine if you've got Proton VPN set up as a gateway at your router.
Microsoft uses this script themselves.
