their military folded because the US plan for their military was for them to fight to the death and lose. Also the US appointed friendly officials who were so corrupt they just made up army regiments and pocketed the pay
I didn't get how WW1 even happened until I heard people who previously struck me as completely non political started talking about how we should do a war because of a treaty (there isn't even any treaty)
