Not actually magic but the trope is the negro in the past would've been "magic" because they help the main character in some way.

I liked the feel of Pop_OS!, the setup and configuration are great, but damned it was unappealing looks wise for me.

Questionable business moves in a game about literally robbing banks is a pretty funny sentiment.

Mint is just green Ubuntu.

I recommend not using the installer if you want to learn how Linux works well.

I looked at the waterfall and I realised I had some design images in there at 2500+ resolution that were taking 5s to load and that was interfering with the loading of the JS.

Thanks, I'll make sure to check this tab first before posting next time.

I think Arch is a good distro to learn for new users who are interested in tech, it gives an amazing example of good documentation and teaches you a lot about how UNIX-Like filesystems work.

That being said for non-technical users with zero interest, my main recommendations are Mint if you are coming from or prefer Windows and Elementary if you're coming from or prefer Mac.

How likely is it to use one for more standard programming e.g. something where python, JavaScript, C or something would normally be used?

You were quick on that edit

I like to take a look through it every once in a while but most of the apps are for people who download mobile games, dating apps and various entertainment sources. I don't watch much content on my phone, unless there isn't another option, and I avoid mobile games for the most part so most of what shows up on the home page is relevant to general masses but not myself.
