Much like yourself I always try and use FOSS first and haven't pirated software since my teena

I'd argue that's the move even if you are planning on doing robust automation - it just means all you have to do is spin up frigate or double-take or whatever and then integrate that with Home Assistant or Node-Red or whatever automation platform you'd like

Any comment re:tracking that others have raised ITT and any plans to open the source code? Loving the UI thus far but like others here would very much prefer FOSS applications

In general, provide content people want, let people know on appropriate forums, and wait. My subreddit took almost 10 years to get 15k subscribers and the first few it was maybe 5 people myself included that were contributing.

Dell and Lenovo also offer laptops with Ubuntu pre-installed and supported.

What's also funny is the article claiming to also be targeting higher income individuals who are towing boats and the like - yeah, there are zero EVs today that can handle that task unless the lake you are going to is like 15-20 minutes away and if towing a camper, be ready to stop every 60-80 miles and that's with a nearly $100k fully equipped, extended battery F150 Lightning.

From what I saw reported last night, Wagner is using X instead of Z on tanks, vehicles, etc

I wish I had data that could fit on an SD card - I too don't have off-site backups mostly due to expense. I have one other friend that is into homelabbing but for us to each backup on each other's hardware would be ~$2k/each. Probably more on his end because I believe he's using a consumer NAS without the room for additional expansion whereas I have a 25 bay commercial setup that's only 1/5 populated at the moment

It's always been Adobe's approach, get em hooked, snuff out competition (or just straight up acquire them), push educators toward materials that are software specific instead of more vague, then push for sales and sue firms using bootleg versions.

After using Figma a fair bit at work and Penpot at home, man the Penpot team is really doing some cool work that I can see rivalling Figma in no time

Dead simple to run via docker compose too. I got it up and running with LDAP in less than an hour

Curious what tooling you're using. I think they all have the 1000 post limit but I at least found BDFRX easy to use to back up my sub's 1000 most recent posts and am just looking to host that and link to it in a future community here on lemmy
