That may explain it... point being, content for remote communities isn't entirely "remote". I'd like to understand what goes where a lot better. I've not found it explained anywhere, and I'm not a coder so can't just "read the code yourself".
lodion
That isn't entirely true. I'm not exactly sure why, but I've definitely seen image posts made to remote communities that are hosted on my instance.
Federation with kbin is broken all over.
Me too. I think because there are actual real life people here, not just astroturfing bots and paid actors.
Looking forward to Sync 😀
Oh man I loved Scaletrics when I was a kid!
Have observed a few times recently where CPU usage was high, and resulted in very brief periods of slow performance on the site. This appears to have been due to DB queries maxing out 1 core. Have just upgraded from 2 to 4 vCPU which should mitigate this for now.
Interesting... I posted the below from another instance. It showed up at kbin.social, but not on any other lemmy instances. It seems outgoing federation from kbin.social is broken?
Each instance admin will do their own thing. Check the sidebar on the front page of your instance, usually it would be mentioned there.
To support development, click "Join Lemmy" at the bottom of the page, then scroll to the bottom. The devs have several methods to accept donations.
Had the same here in Perth today. I do not like buses.
I see it as all communities here on aussie.zone belong to all users. Mods are caretakers. So feel free to post or cross post appropriate content to any community.
Yeah post content I understand. Linked or posted images though are not consistently handled, so I'm not sure what circumstances lead to my instance pulling the image from a remote community.
