Don't worry you have a very valid concern! However there are 3 other fire escapes on the basement floor, making mine technically not a mandatory fire escape. But even so I don't see how stepping on plants would prevent me from exiting the window and using the ladder

Edit: as many of you have pointed out this place is a bad area to grow things and should stay as a cleared out firescape. Ill trust the wisdom of the crowed and not temp fate, thanks everyone for being polite with my misunderstanding of the area!

Currently switching my desktops from alpine to void just for the fun of it. Servers will always be alpine but void just feels right on the desktop!
If your looking for a diffrent desktop experiance the OS doesnt matter outside of if it has packages or not. You might want to try KDE plasma with custom themes if your not a fan of the way xfce works. Although xfce is also extreamly customizable in the way it works too if you take some time to read the docs

Servo and Ladybird are both nowhere near close to daily drivable (at least for the general public), however Servos been making a ton of progress after their restart and seems much more like an actual chrome competitor then Ladybird. So why do I never see it talked about while Ladybird seems to be the next big topic here?
Keep in mind I do think these are both amazing projects and I really hope they can co-exist
Edit: Looks like the main reasoning is Servo's focus on being embedded while Ladybird promises a fully functional browser
Right now I have everything except wireguard setup on my old Thinkpad. I'm planning on hosting a minecraft server, forgejo, jellyfin, and fediverse instances. Before I expose everything to the open web I'd be grateful if someone could look my setup over and tell me if this is secure enough I can just update containers when they need and forget about security
Rpi uses 25watts? My old acer 6th gen laptop has a 15watt TDP and remains around 8watts 24/7 even with my services and without disconnecting the internals. My 8th gen laptop pulls 6watts with the screen on. People here saying older laptops arent a good choice are insane considering the ~$100-300 diffrence between an ewaste laptop and dedicated minipc + backup power bank (laptops have internal batterys you can easily replace when they go bad)
