@[email protected] Interesting! Tree sparrows around where I live have a beak that’s more on the gray side. But this looks black to me.
And now I need to photograph one around here so I can do a proper comparison.

It does have a fun sound. I also kind of like that the drumming sounds like it needs a bit more practice.

Here we have two different green ones. Green woodpecker and Grey-headed woodpecker. Then we have the Black woodpecker and four different kinds of ”white and black” woodpecker.
