The top 2 are in-line with the behaviour of Instagram's main timeline. So yeah, it's not surprising.
Another downside is your account is linked with your Instagram account.

It doesn't have "people you followed" timeline though, so personally I'll say it worse than Twitter.

It's not exclusive to Connect though.
I use Mlem @ iOS and I can collapse comment too.

I'll gladly running at full speed to go home if my employer told me to go home for having a runny nose.

Yeah, I tried it and after I read some reactions about Threads on Twitter I don't think people will moving from Twitter with current Threads condition.
I only follow Japanese account, yet my timeline filled with English and other language.

Tried it and after read some summary about it on Twitter, I don't like it personally. They don't have "only people you follow" timeline. They use timeline like r/all or Twitter's recommendation tab.

Tried it and the timeline was a hell. It worse than Twitter's recommendation tab. At least Twitter's recommendation tab is filled with people with same interest like you, but Thread's timeline filled with people I don't know and not even have same interest with me.

I only follow Japanese account, yet the timeline filled with people speaking language other than Japanese.

You missed the point. If you look at the recent posts on this community, most of them are news about Twitter. They asking is this community to talk about technology, or just community to post news about Twitter.

Not to mention some people use Twitter only to follow certain people and rarely tweet. If that people aren't moving, no way they'll move to Mastodon.
