first you are wrong.

wrong about what?

Excluding smartphone slaves would be a big plus.

Depending on your goal. If your goal is to have an exclusive club of monero users, yeah, be my guest. But if you want to reach some critical mass with your monero-related discussion community, some level of ease of access to the discussion medium helps.

Without user login, just to read.

That's not the issue here. The issue is: a new monero community member cannot create a new reddit account and partake in the discussions there. You absolutely cannot create new threads on reddit as a new user (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE REGISTERED VIA THE ONION URL OF REDDIT). You will 1) get filtered by reddit's auto-filters 2) get filtered by monero subreddit mods' autofilters.

If someone wants to discuss a Reddit post, they can link that post here on Monero.Town. Then, if the posts here are better than the posts on Reddit, users will start linking to them here. This will eventually bring users here.

That sounds like a good transition strategy to the Town.

Yes, no mobile device access is a big hurdle.

Andre Saltz

He left Manyverse development 2 months ago. Someone else hopefully will take up the mantle.

Matrix

I don't think matrix is censorship resistant at all. It relies on DNS, which is centralized. Also, these criticisms of matrix are valid reasons to not pick it imo: https://telegra.ph/why-not-matrix-08-07

Where can I begin with SSB? Sadly, almost all of its clients seem like they are abandoned development.

how/where do you get the initial amount?

Get some LTC from a non-KYC crypto ATM. Use stack wallet to exchange LTC into XMR. Then, off to Haveno you go. Stack more neros.

That's cool. I might try nostr for that, although I still think secure scuttlebutt's design is better.

What makes it "Monero"? Does it have a monero send/receive functionality?
