I think calling Wordpress uncool and the boss a dork diminishes the very real issues that people have with the person and company- issues that are NOT about “coolness”

I think Lemmy developers should focus on developing and supporting Lemmy’s core features and not stuff like novelty bots. Lemmy is not a monolithic entity, so the rules regarding implementing such bots would be up to each instance and then each community on the instance. There’s no technical reason I’m aware of that would prevent such a bot from working, just a question as to whether it would be allowed or even welcomed.
But then who is putting everything on the treadmills on the other side?
He got the treadmills because he’s too lazy to go into the kitchen to get the snacks, and I assume the snacks being stored in the fridge and cabinets- otherwise, why not just keep the snacks where he is sitting now? But then how are the snacks getting onto the treadmills from their respective storage?
The National Guard is not monolithic either, as it is per service and per state. I.e. Minnesota Air National Guard, Minnesota Army National Guard, Iowa Air… you get it
Save science for people who understand things.
Does this not strike you as the least bit ironic?
It’s nice that you credit who asked the original question, but you could just cross post their original post
They don’t have nearly as much of a problem as non-federated social media. The short answer is that it depends on how instances have things set up and how users decide to migrate- but still, compare that to non-federated social media where you’re just given the boot when things shut down
Asklemmy’s purpose is a place to ask open-ended questions, “an actual topic of discussion”, as the sidebar puts it, its not really meant to just answer questions that could be researched and answered.
Honestly bring up everything you think may be relevant. Did you use a certain system, software, or equipment, but only once or twice? I think you should still mention it, especially if it’s esoteric. You may be nearly equal to another candidate, but the fact you’ve even seen that thing may put you ahead. I prefaced with “honest” because overselling your actual experience or knowledge rarely ends well.
Mention any self study you’ve done, too, even if it hasn’t resulted in a degree or certification. Folks like to know you have interest in expanding your skills.
Apply for jobs even if the description seems only tenuously connected to what you’re looking for. I’ve seen some awful postings compared to what the actual work was going to be. It’s obnoxious and absurd that there’s such a disconnect, and ends up being extra work, but you may be surprised by what turns up.
Were you really looking for honest discussion? If you posted without inflammatory language and a combative attitude, you may have started an actual dialogue. But you didn’t.
Thank you for sharing and no need for any apologies on your part!
Maybe it’s just how my phone is displaying it, but I’m finding it hard to discern what your picture is supposed to show. I just see a blurry screenshot of a game with on screen controls
