My wife forbids me from getting any large appliances for any 1 thing, so I could never convince her to get a ride cooker. Instead we got an InstaPot that we use exclusively to cook rice. It's way different (trust me)

I disagree. I think you want to keep a small MOI because that allows you to control a tipping carton with the least amount of torque. At least that's how I've been justifying by method of taking from the outsides, in.

It's much harder to control a stick with weights in the ends, ESPECIALLY if the weights are unbalanced (which they will be unless you're only using even numbers of eggs. )

  1. We should hang out at parties.
  2. None of this matters in my real life because my wife is a chaos goblin who just grabs eggs from WHEREVER she pleases, almost like she's not even considering the mass moment of inertia at all!

I'm essence, yeah. I had nothing but nice things to say about the current company I was working for. Liked my job, like the company, boss, etc. Whenthe interviewers asked why I was leaving I told them that it was a small, family owned business (not my family). I loved working there but I'm only making about half the market value for my degree. The current boss told me from the start that he wouldn't be able to pay what I'm worth, but asked that I learn what I could there, then let them know when I'm going to move on. I relayed all that to my interviewers and they loved it. Later they cited that answer as one of the reasons they hired me.

I don't want to haggle those things either!

We had this in our local, small town police department. Female police officer spoke up and blew the whistle on somebody that was accepting BJ's to let tickets slide.

The department "downsized", let her go, then re-upsized to hire a different person back. Then they said her allegations were just in retaliation for being let go. Then she sued for wrongful termination and I THINK she ended up winning.

I might have some of the details mixed up cause this was all going down JUST as I was moving into the town.

To be fair, I did have a baby in 2020 and it felt like every other week they sent an extra check for having a baby. 10/10 would recommend.

I use immich but if there are 100 people in this room, at least 99 of them know more than me so definitely don't weigh my words too heavily.

For me, it's family. Even within the US I know there are a lot of better places to live with more to do, more walkable neighborhoods, etc. But my wife and I both have our parents here, and we both have 2 siblings and there are 9 cousins (our generation's kids) and I love watching them grow up together. As much as I disagree with the politics locally and Nationally, I also love that I don't have to raise my kids on an island. So it's either stay here, or join a cult somewhere.

When I go for a bowl of cereal, I pour out as much cereal as I want, then add the appropriate amount of milk. I would NEVER pour myself a hearty bowl of milk and then just cereal to taste. That's the part that feels craziest to me.

I'm engaged in a 10 year battle against chafing. I finally found shorts I like, but they were manufactured in partnership with my local running store, and they couldn't justify keeping the program going.

Then I switched to Asics 2 in 1 with built in boxer-briefs. I thought they were perfect but I swear the last 2 pairs I had lasted less than 5 runs before a hole opened up and allowed chafing.

Now I've been running in LuLuLemon shorts that are a tad smaller than I'd prefer, but they've been completely chafe free and seem to be holding up structurally.

For me, the flies in the eyes are just as bad, if not worse, than the flies in my lungs.

Hello all, The first thing I setup to self-host was NextCloud, and I followed instructions and built the stack directly on the host computer. It's hosted on port 80, and I created a Cloudflare tunnel from "cloud.mydomain.com" which points to http://192.168.1.111 and everything works perfectly. I can access the site from wherever, and everything felt great. Now for the thing I really want, an Immich server.

I followed the instructions and set up Immich in a docker container. Everything seems to be working great, I can access it from within my network and backup photos just like I was hoping. Within the same Cloudflare tunnel, I tried to add a new Public Hostname. I want "photos.mydomain.com" to point to the same host but on port 2283. I added the public hostname and pointed it to http://192.168.1.111:2283, but whenever I point a browser there I get the "502 Bad Gateway" error from cloudflare.

I assume this is a Cloudflare configuration issue, but I'm not 100% sure. Do I need to do anyting special with docker if I intend to access it through Cloudflare? I THINK docker is set up correctly because I am able to access the Immich from a different computer on my local network. I thought using Cloudflare made it so that I don't to worry about setting up a reverse proxy. Is that maybe not true?

Or does Immich need something specific to tell it to accept traffic outside of my network? I remember having to set up NextCloud with "trusted domains" but when that wasn't correct, I got an error message from NextCloud, not from Cloudflare.

Any help would be appreciated. I've poked around a bunch and I'm pretty sure I can't solve this on my own.
