I assure you men are preyed upon their insecurities too. But instead of accessories and cosmetics, it's about their weak gains (to sell protein powders, gym supplements, performance drugs, etc), or their weak achievements (to sell cars to overcompensate). I do agree that women have historically been more put down by ads. But it's not true that men get half the ads.
