Personally, I'm holding off kbin all together until there's a mobile app and collapsable comments, but if I were to use it I'd just create my own instance. I can already access all kbin communities from Lemmy and I'm not a huge microblogging fan anyways, so it doesn't bother me too much.

Other then that, there's this: https://kbin.fediverse.observer/list

Just don't move to the kbin.social instance, I'm already starting to get worried since it's an absolute monopoly castle on kbin

I'm missing pretty much all the "League of Legends Mains" communities, especially ADCMains and SamiraMains. They were one of my absolute go-to subreddits and the only reason I haven't fully deleted my account yet.

Other then that it's mostly niche things, especially very niche wholesome fem-oriented NSFW subs

Can you throw me a link? I kinda missed it and am not sure if the search function would even find it

unless a relay is used

What do you mean by that?

Lemmy doesn't have "their own app" nor does it have "its own site". It's all open source. There is no one company behind it. The one issue that might arise is that the open source project is being led by a bunch of developers who could in theory go rogue, but people would just create a fork (kinda like a copy) of the source code and create their own lemmy instances. On top of that, Lemmy instance admins would likely not install the updates from the main developers.

Don't worry, we're safe here.

what do you mean with "CLI based workflow"? If it's about not using the gnome utilities like wifi, just check the arch wiki, pretty much everything is explained in there

I kinda like that idea, but wouldn't that also cause a lot of divide and some sort of echo chambers to grow?

I know we all dream of having all our friends and family on the Fediverse

I honestly have to say that this isn't remotely part of my dream. I couldn't care less about the friends and families that are using facebook. They can contact me over E-Mail or over my phone. If they want to stay in touch even more, come join Discord or leave it be, simple as that.

If it wasn't for those alternative social media, I wouldn't even use social media at all.

Am I in the minority for thinking like that?

best thing is we can finally link a bit better to the pirate sites, since we aren't bound by the higher rules of reddit anymore. Obviously, we still have to keep it somewhat low (see the link in the rules), but it's still incredibly freeing
