I think they dodged that as well... https://arstechnica.com/?p=1989111

"Android users' hopes that Apple's iMessage would be forced to open up in the European Union have been dashed. Bloomberg reports that iMessage won't qualify for the EU's new "Digital Markets Act," allowing Apple to keep iMessage exclusive to Apple users. ..."

Good list:

  • Leviathan Wakes, James S.A. Corey
  • We Are Legion (We Are Bob), Dennis E. Taylor
  • Binti, Nnedi Okorafor-
  • To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini
  • Space Opera by Catherynne M. Valente
  • Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky

I would probably add

  • Delta-v by Daniel Suarez
  • Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
  • Lady Astronaut Universe Series by Mary Robinette Kowal

And I'm sure there are others Lemmy's might add.

Interesting, but I wonder if the car companies have any reason to reply? Be it legal, social, or fiduciary?

Several elements strike me.

It lays out options in a way that described the fork we are at. Asking the implicit question, are we going to turn left, go straight, or go right as I'd we are driving up a hill.

It also shows the shallow bumps in the road we have experienced and allows you to compare where we are going and how fast the hill has started climbing.

Now what is not great is the tags as it does not do great at explaining how the different scenario are derived and probability. That is pretty hard to do in a single infographic though.

Is this from one of the IPCC updates? Good visualization.

Anyone have any data or links on the manufacturing rate the Russia is capable of on many of these systems? I have read they are ramping things up but haven't see how close to the loss rate they are.

Yea, seems like there is a bit of a gap in the air defense capabilities there.

The link sending is a bit convoluted, but once you figure it out it is a beautiful app.

$14 million in infrastructure cost for 2023 is incredibly cheap considering. This is san human cost and other ancillary consideration.

That sum is certainly achievable with small donations. If NPR can run on nags and some large, then I'm sure Signal can as well.

That an impressive distance to send and received for a terrestrial signal. 8m high get's more range over the curve of the earth, and the Yagi gets you a directed signal, but I'm wondering how much RF this puts out. Seems like an easy return path for something with a seeker.

Yea, is there a 'best of' yet?
