That's pretty much me. I've introduced a few of my friends to Linux. I recommend Ubuntu because it generally has the most documentation, support, largest userbase, etc but they are of course free to pick whatever distro they want. I use Ubuntu LTS myself, it works well enough. In terms of software, I like static linked builds and AppImages since they work on pretty much any distro.

I had something similar happen actually. I do remember when I was in like grade 1 or 2 there were some wild berries, and I thought they looked poisonous so I saw a kid was going to eat some during recess, I told him he probably shouldn't but he did anyway. I never saw him again. Then again, I never knew who he was to begin with so that might be why.
Depends on the programming language. In JavaScript, it literally means that like the key or variable does not actually exist. Whereas like in C/C++, writing random bytes to random memory addresses would result in "undefined behaviour" which means basically anything could happen.

Yep, pretty much same here. I cut it down to just Spotify and Crunchyroll, and now just Crunchyroll then torrenting/usenet if it's not on Crunchyroll.
Still some improvements need to be made but it's way more usable now than before 0.18.0.
Yeah, there's a lot of borrow words in Japanese. Napkin is napukin, for example.
CRTC has been useless or even worse, actively harmful, for a long time now unfortunately.
Does Lemmy automatically grab all content from all federated servers, or does it only grab the content from communities you (and any other users on the instance) are subscribed to/are actively being visited?
I'm not so sure it does copy all content in the background.
Ah nope, I'm not in the UK. I guess there are more phantom shitters that shut down an entire office than I realized!
I have seen things, things that no office worker should see...
Anyways, that may or may not be one of the reasons I don't want to work in an office again lol
Holy shit, that sounds so similar to the last time I worked in an office LMAO
What country was this?
Yeah some of these sound straight up aggressive lol
